FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

WHY CYCLING?

Firstly I love to ride a bike, because it is a very enjoyable activity. We all know how hard and boring it is to do something you don't like.

The use of bicycles in our childhood consisted of walking in and out of the garden or walking the street. This was a game for us. I bought myself a bicycle, and after I really met the bicycle, I discovered that the bicycle could be a means of transportation, not a toy. At first, I was short, went out on weekends, joined the cycling group, and discovered that you could go to remote places by bike. I started cycling to work. I organized day trips to myself. I participated in organized tours. Then ... I discovered the tour bike. I can even carry a load! And from then on I couldn't go back. I found myself doing plans and research. I searched the equipment and found out. Then I procured and lived. I started planning longer tours. The first long tour was Ayvalik-Antalya. It took 21 days. The next year I wanted to go abroad and planned a Edirne-Belgrade tour, lasted 2700km, 6 countries and 30 days and left. And I did it! Yeah, it's happening. When I returned, the size of the plans began to develop towards the world tour. A very efficient invention of bicycles. You think this is a slow and challenging tool, but you haven't tried it. It wasn't after trying it; It's not as difficult as you think, but you experience long miles of travel, and your courage grows further, your horizon is open and you feel the happiness of success. So bike! Always cycling! No need to count other professionals, I think that's enough.

HOW YOU CONSIDER YOUR ROUTES?

It's a bit of a confusing. Depending on what type of travel you adopt, it will vary depending on the time, your interests or the state of your internet access.

Every person has his own sense of travel. Someone lists the popular places to visit in the region where he / she will go, creates the route and sets off. Someone wants to visit museums, ancient places and more can land, mountains, slopes. Someone likes to enjoy the view at the top of the mountains, climbs and climbs. Someone just likes to go on asphalt, so he draws a path. Having internet access can make you more flexible about your route. You can look at certain points along the route and continue.

Or you can take the route to where the road leads without using any route, maps. If you do not have time problems, this will be the most adventurous :)

While I'm doing short tours, I determine my map according to my interests, draw it in map programs and throw it into my GPS device. And that's how I find my way. But when I don't have time concerns, I'm more flexible. The direction in your mind is more or less obvious. You can even get the idea by asking local people on the way. It is impossible to make your route 100% impossible. You can have problems on the way. On the map, it is guiding, you can go there, there may be no road or it may be gone. The same way back you will return :)

I think it's best to be comfortable, to follow what the "moment" shows, and to give it tremendous freedom and joy.

HOW DO YOU COST YOUR EXPENDITURES?

First and foremost, everyone needs to have an idea when they have a unique travel style. With the money that one spends in a day, another person can travel for 1 week. Once we have identified our daily needs correctly and adequately, we have to think about how we can reduce these costs. Probably the most money-paying thing in the day would be the accommodation. We can reduce the cost to zero because we stayed in the tent. Food and beverage costs may vary widely from country to country. You can also reduce your cooking costs by cooking your own meals at the campsite. Although the visa costs may seem small, there will be a lot of burden, but unfortunately there is nothing to do with this issue.

I don't have a sponsor yet. That's why I've taken everything I've ever done from my own pocket. There's some money on the sidelines. Thanks to the savings I have made during my working life, I am now progressing. In the future, if you drop something through the website, various sponsors or maybe the youtube channel, I'm not sure what to say :)

It may be necessary to earn money on the road or to earn small income. Because these are travels within limited opportunities. You can find detailed information about making money on the road on my page.

Traveling by bicycle is one of the cheapest forms of travel. In addition, you can travel with very small amounts on a budget if you can be frugal. In my opinion; The savings you make during the trip have to be seen as a gain. Any pounds spent in vain will return to you as a plus :)

WHY YOU CYCLING ALONE? NOT HARD?

This is probably the most asked question. Of course, traveling alone has its advantages and disadvantages. Freedom is the main reason I choose to travel alone. No matter how close your partner is, you will not agree on certain issues. One may be tired, one wants to pedal more, one does not want to climb the mountain, the other may. In short, everyone has a unique travel style. It is very difficult to expect these situations to coincide completely. Or changes may occur depending on how long you can tolerate these situations. Totally personal preferences.

Another reason is to communicate more easily with people you meet on the road. When you stand alone for a break somewhere alone, someone comes to you and asks you questions. You can contact someone immediately. Because they're curious. If you are an overcrowded group, you may be shy people to communicate, they may be afraid, etc. Also, if you're crowded, it's a little harder for people to invite you to dinner or stay at home. It's easier when you're alone. If people invite you to their home, they trust you by creating the ideal environment to start a pleasant conversation. This gives you the opportunity to get to know people's culture and life better. Camping alone in campsites or forests is more ideal. So; if you're a crowded group, you make a lot of noise, take up a lot of space, so it's easy to spot around, it takes longer to pack up and set off. If you are the only person, you will not experience these problems in general. It's usually not good for someone to notice you. Complain, prohibited and so on. In short, you decide everything and you can deal with it. For these reasons, I prefer to travel alone because I think I am more free.

HOW MUCH DID YOU SPEND?

It is very easy and very difficult to answer this question. You collect knock-knock-knock, you put the amount of money you give to the equipment on the calculator, just like the amount of the roof. That's the easy part. I bought my bike in 2016 for 7800 Turkish liras. All other equipment cost approximately 26-27000Turkish liras. However, in the summer of 2015, I started to collect my equipment from left to right. Since I plan to go on a world tour by bike at that time, I gathered this bike in the world tour equipment. Still, there is still missing. :) In the summer of 2017, on the way to Serbia, everything was complete, except for winter clothes and camping equipment. After the tour, I continued to complete the other equipment.

HOW DO YOU ACCOMODATE?

Accommodation is the most expensive part of the trip. You should bring this thing for the cheapest or for free. Otherwise you'll spend a lot of money. The easiest way to stay for free is to adopt tent camp life. You set up the tent and slept, you can continue in the morning. But of course it is not possible to stay in the tent all the time. You may need to spend money from time to time for comfortable and warm beds. Sometimes you need to rest well. Laundry needs to do things like wash dishes and take a shower.

And there are some websites / platforms that you can use for free. The most reliable and common ones; warmshowers and couchsurfing sites. You send a message to people who are members of such websites, and they invite you, if appropriate. You can stay for free. And this is an opportunity to have a pleasant conversation. Sometimes people can invite you directly on the road. When there is no suitable place to set up tents, there is necessarily a place around the institution / organization / artisans / people; police station, gas station, schoolyard, mosque-church, firemen can even be one of the garden. You can also contact local people and ask for permission.
